Although a Ben Affleck movie, The Accountant in entirety misses coherence. For instance, the movie opens with a shoot out that’s witnessed by a man whose face is hidden, and we’re abruptly transformed to a school in Maine for special kids, where Christian (Ben Affleck) is forcefully admitted by his military father, who is convinced that all Christian needs is certain disciplinary training.
We’re now looking at J.K Simmons, a treasury agent, blackmailing an analyst for the whereabouts of the accountant. A confusing flashback of Christian talking to Francis (Jeffrey Tambor) in prison takes the next scene, right after which the viewers are looking at Brax, an efficient officer, brutally slapping a CFO in a parking garage in Switzerland.
O’Connor has us all confused with 4 storylines, attempting to initiate curiosity (it works in his favour at the beginning but gradually loses all cards).
